Explore Advanced PE Foam Manufacturing Technologies at New Edge
PE Foam is widely used in industries such as electronics, automotive, industrial equipment, packaging, and logistics thanks to its lightweight structure, flexibility, moisture resistance, and excellent shock absorption.
To transform PE Foam sheets into components that meet specific application requirements, various processing technologies are required. With its current manufacturing capabilities, New Edge provides a wide range of PE Foam processing solutions, including cutting, die-cutting, multi-layer heat lamination, shaped heat lamination, and CNC machining, supporting everything from simple components to complex customized designs.

1. PE Foam Cutting – Flexible for Various Dimensions
Cutting is one of the fundamental processes in PE Foam fabrication. From large PE Foam sheets, New Edge can process materials into components according to required dimensions with a cutting tolerance of ±3 mm, depending on material thickness, structure, and product characteristics.
This method is suitable for relatively simple products such as foam pads, protective liners, inserts, dividers, and cushioning materials.
The main advantage of cutting is its flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of dimensions and applications that do not require highly complex profiles.
2. PE Foam Die-Cutting
For products requiring specific shapes or high-volume production, PE Foam die-cutting provides an efficient solution to improve productivity while maintaining product consistency.
New Edge currently has the capability to die-cut PE Foam in large formats up to 500 × 1500 mm, with a die-cutting tolerance of ±3 mm, making it suitable for large foam components requiring consistent dimensional accuracy.
Using dies designed according to product specifications, PE Foam can be processed into various profiles, including holes, slots, grooves, and custom contours based on technical drawings. This technology is suitable for foam trays, liners, pads, protective components, and other custom-shaped foam parts.
3. Multi-Layer Heat Lamination – Thickness up to 200 mm
In many practical applications, a single layer of PE Foam may not provide sufficient thickness for cushioning, shock absorption, or product positioning.
New Edge is capable of heat-laminating multiple PE Foam layers to a total thickness of up to 200 mm, creating thick foam blocks that can subsequently be processed by cutting, die-cutting, or CNC machining.
Heat lamination provides a strong and cost-effective bond between foam layers without relying on adhesives, while also expanding the possibilities for multi-layer structural designs.
4. Custom Shaped Heat Lamination
In addition to laminating flat PE Foam sheets, New Edge also provides custom shaped heat lamination based on customer designs.
Individual PE Foam components can be processed separately and then thermally bonded to create a complete structure. This method enables the production of three-dimensional designs or specialized structures that cannot be easily achieved using a single foam sheet.
Shaped heat lamination is particularly suitable for technical packaging, protective trays, positioning pads, and customized foam products designed to match the actual shape of the product.
5. CNC Machining – A Solution for Complex Profiles
For components featuring curves, multiple angles, or complex profiles that are difficult to achieve with conventional cutting or die-cutting methods, CNC technology provides greater processing flexibility.
New Edge's CNC equipment enables PE Foam to be processed according to digital design data, making it suitable for products with complex geometries, multiple cutting areas, or frequently changing designs.
CNC machining is also particularly valuable during the prototype development stage. It allows businesses to quickly transform technical drawings into physical samples for design evaluation before investing in tooling and moving into mass production.
6. Combining Technologies to Expand PE Foam Processing Capabilities
A PE Foam product does not necessarily rely on only one processing method. Depending on the design requirements, New Edge can combine multiple technologies within a single manufacturing process.
By integrating different processing methods, New Edge can expand design possibilities and better accommodate specific requirements for dimensions, shapes, structures, and production quantities.
New Edge – Customized PE Foam Processing Solutions
With its current manufacturing capabilities, New Edge can support a wide range of PE Foam processing requirements, from prototype development to mass production.
Based on the technical drawings, dimensions, thickness, production volume, and specific technical requirements, the New Edge team can evaluate each project and select or combine the most appropriate manufacturing processes.
